Door Decals
Door Decals for Business Vehicles
Design Specs
Maximum size: 24" x 24"
Include DOT numbers when required for compliance; omit only if not needed
Recommended bleed: 0.125" (1/8") on all sides
Safe area: keep text and critical elements at least 0.25" inside trim edge
Recommended resolution: 300 DPI at final size
File formats accepted: vector PDF, AI, EPS preferred; high-resolution flattened TIFF or PNG also acceptable
Content Guidelines
Company name and logo: primary elements; place for immediate brand recognition
Contact info: phone number and/or website; keep concise
Business tagline or service list: 3–5 words or short phrase (e.g., "Screen Printing & Embroidery")
DOT Numbers: include full DOT number text exactly as assigned; place in a readable but unobtrusive location (lower corner or under contact line)
Optional: license numbers, MC numbers, or other regulatory IDs if applicable
Design Tips
Keep copy minimal for visibility at a glance while vehicle is in motion
Use high-contrast color combinations for readability (dark text on light background or light text on dark background)
Use bold, legible fonts (sans-serif recommended) and avoid decorative scripts for primary info
Make logo proportionate — not too large to overwhelm DOT/required text, not too small to be unreadable
Consider hierarchy: company name/logo → core service/tagline → contact info → DOT number
If using imagery, keep it simple and avoid small details that will not reproduce well at distance
Layout Ideas
Left/right door vertical stack: logo at top, company name, service line, phone/website, DOT number at bottom corner
Horizontal badge near handle: circular or rectangular emblem with logo and company name; contact and DOT info below or beside
Split layout: large logo centered with contact line under and DOT number discreetly aligned to lower edge
Material & Finish Recommendations
Durable vinyl suitable for outdoor exposure and vehicle washing
UV laminate for color protection and longer life
Removable adhesive option for leased vehicles; permanent adhesive for long-term fleet use
Matte finish reduces glare; gloss finish enhances color vibrancy
Production Checklist
Confirm maximum 24" x 24" final dimensions
Provide exact DOT number string for typesetting
Supply high-resolution logo (vector preferred)
Confirm finish (matte vs. gloss) and adhesive type
Approve proof with bleed and safe area visible
Verify color proof (PMS spot colors available on request)
Compliance Note
DOT numbers must be displayed where required by law and be legible from a reasonable distance. If unsure whether a DOT number is required for a particular vehicle, consult your regulatory authority before omitting.
Need help with design or file setup? Provide logo and exact DOT number and we’ll prepare print-ready proofs sized to the 24" x 24" limit.
